Is a 28BYJ-48 stepper motor good for a CNC application?
Is a 28BYJ-48 stepper motor good for a CNC application?
These stepper motors are ideal to be used in small-scale CNC plotters and laser engravers, as far as milling machines are concerned, larger stepper motors should be used. Reasons:
The 28BYJ-48 stepper motors are not made to be used for high torque applications such as bench-sized CNC machines.
These motors cannot handle high current and voltage.
There are several other stepper motors available such as NEMA 14 which are ideal for CNC machines.
So finally, if you are making a miniature CNC machine such as a plotter or a laser engraver, go for the 28BYJ-48 stepper motors because they are very economic and easily available. If you want to make a larger CNC machine such as a milling machine, you should go for larger stepper motors.
Cloudray Stepper Motor Series has set the standard for quality, reliability, and durability in stepping motors. The precision of our Torque Power motors is matched only by the dependability of their performance. All Torque Power motors are bi-directional and totally enclosed with permanently lubricated ball bearings for long-lasting, smooth operation.

High Torque, High Precision and Long life is Cloudray's core advantage
